Merrill Moore

Art moves me. Quotes inspire me. Color affects me. Boldness encourages me. When we engage with art that resonates with us, whether through its colors or composition, it evokes an emotional response. This response is felt daily as we interact with the art in our homes. As such, our personal art collections have the ability to play a significant role in our overall well-being.
I consider it a privilege to create art that infuses people with emotions that inspire a sense of confidence, self-expression, and the courage to explore new ideas. As a former mental health counselor, I want to empower people to dream big and live boldly because quite frankly, it's a message we don't hear nearly enough.
Based in Richmond, Virginia, Merrill Moore’s artistic roots go back to her childhood. Her grandmother was a metal sculptor with a degree from Rhode Island School of Design, her mother is an abstract artist, and while Merrill’s older sister had a natural ability to draw, Merrill was more connected to the art of cartography. The clean lines, hard edges and minimalism of that art form continue to influence her work today.
A self-taught artist, Moore earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Davidson College, and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling at Johns Hopkins University. She currently lives with her husband, two children and a dog, in a home filled with bright, bold inspiration.
