Kelly Mason FieldenOf Mason Brookes Design
with grandmothers and great grandmothers on both sides of the family having been artist, it seemed only natural for Kelly to become one herself. She studied studio art at UNC Chapel Hill and UNC Greensboro and finished with a BA in Studio Art with a concentration in abstract oil painting from the University of Maryland. 20+ years ago she started her own business out of college the focused on murals and faux finished in the DC area. While stating a family and moving to Annapolis, Maryland she joined the board of Queen Annes County Arts Council and joined in chairing their first mural project for the county. Its evident the serene beauty of Annapolis and the bay have infused her own work in her abstract coastal series. Along with Coastal inspiration she is drawn to the traditional themes of chinoiserie as her mother and grandmother had beautifully decorated their homes in these motifs. Kelly feels the when she paints these style florals it is a way for her to remember and pay tribute to these important women in her life.
Kellys artwork has been published in Entertain and Celebrate Holiday, Town and Country, and most recently in the Cottage Journal Spring 2022 with her work for The Bees Knees Interior Design Studio out of Boston.
