Ashley YoungAshley is an artist and designer who specializes in whimsical, colorful landscapes and portraits. With a background in the creative fields that spans over a decade, she’s equally at home with a paintbrush as she is with a design concept. Ashley graduated from the University of Richmond in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art, then went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from SCAD in 2011. After a successful career as a graphic designer and art director, she traded in deadlines for mom life when she had her second child in 2019. She quickly realized she needed a creative outlet to survive the chaos, and that’s when she decided to pick up her paintbrush again.
Her work is heavily influenced by her time living in Crozet, VA, where she spent her days surrounded by the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This inspiration is reflected in her vibrant, playful landscapes, which offer a fresh and lighthearted take on nature and life. When she’s not painting, you’ll find Ashley in full-on “field research” mode, chasing her two kids and a mischievous pup around the house and carting them around town to their various activities. Her work has found its way into local shops and homes up and down the East Coast, and she’s always looking for new ways to add a little more color to the world. |
