This response is felt daily as we interact with the art in our homes. As such, our personal art collections have the ability to play a significant role in our overall well-being.
I consider it a privilege to create art that infuses people with emotions that inspire a sense of confidence, self-expression, and the courage to explore new ideas. As a former mental health counselor, I want to empower people to dream big and live boldly because quite frankly, it's a message we don't hear nearly enough. Based in Richmond, Virginia, Merrill Moore’s artistic roots go back to her childhood. Her grandmother was a metal sculptor with a degree from Rhode Island School of Design, her mother is an abstract artist, and while Merrill’s older sister had a natural ability to draw, Merrill was more connected to the art of cartography. The clean lines, hard edges and minimalism of that art form continue to influence her work today. A self-taught artist, Moore earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Davidson College, and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling at Johns Hopkins University. She currently lives with her husband, two children and a dog, in a home filled with bright, bold inspiration. |
